There has been lots of hype surrounding the Grateful Dead Bears x Nike SB Dunk collaboration. The name comes from then-soundman for the Grateful Dead Owsley “Bear” Stanley who chose his favorite tracks for the 1973 album History of the Grateful Dead, Volume One (Bear’s Choice). Switching up the titular color from the Orange Bear, Digital Pink coats the suede overlays with a smooth finish. Meanwhile, Pink tuffs of faux fur burst from the toe box, quarter panel underlays and low-profile liner. While preset Pink laces end in Red and Blue aglets, the SB Dunk Grateful Dead Bear comes with an additional set of Aqua Blue laces. The breathable mesh tongue with an added zipper pouch reveals an Aqua Pink liner of its own. This matched the Blue hitting the jagged quarter panel Swoosh to match the bear’s collar, as well as the rubber outsole. Subsequently, the sole insert displays all 5 colored Bears dancing together with the Pink Bear closest to the toe.
