Back in July 2020, Jordan Brand readied a “Crater” collection, made up of sustainably-built takes on the Air Jordan 1 High Zoom, Crater and Crater Slide. Now, in July 2021, the Jumpman is adding further to its Earth-conscious lineup with a new Air Jordan 1 Mid that boasts the same circular principles as its counterparts and is inspired by the hard-wearing nature of workwear.
Officially dubbed “Black/Racer Blue/White/Multi-Color,” this mid-cut Air Jordan 1 features a washed canvas mudguard, quarter panel, heel and collar, accented by black synthetic suede toeboxes and collar flaps. Swooshes are made from Nike‘s flecked Nike Grind rubber — as are the outsoles — and are overlaid with jagged blue stitching for the shoe’s brightest pop of color. Midsoles are presented in flecked gray and insoles in bright blue, while final dashes of detailing arrive via a textile ball-and-wings logo on the collar flap and a hit on the tongue. The entire shoe is constructed of at least 20% recycled content by weight.
